Finally Some Significant Precipitation For North Dakota?
It's dryer that a popcorn fart.
Another one of those "sayings" from my father that's been etched in my mind forever. I've heard meteorologist after meteorologist say the same thing over and over. It's dryer than it's ever been since they started keeping the drought monitor records.
Well, according to several outlets, including the very popular Dakota Storm Stalkers on Facebook, we could in for some very significant rain over the next several days. Not just a one time shot deal either. We have rain chances starting tonight through the weekend. That's great news for so many people and especially farmers.
We could see between an inch to two inches of rain in the Bismarck Mandan area.
Here's the latest precipitation forecast map from the Dakota Storm Stalkers Facebook page.
Not a drought buster, but some much needed rain for planting and field work for the farmers. This might help out the people trying to keep their water stricken lawns alive too. I'm one of those people and sure could use a little help with my water bill, you know I'm saying?
I'm mean seriously, when was the last time we saw a forecast like this?
Even, NOAA The National Weather Service is calling for good rain chances for the next 5 days. Let's hope the Bismarck "bubble" finally "pops." It was so ironic, that every time it looked like we would have a big storm or two last summer, the rain would literally break apart when it hit Bismarck Mandan. I personally would love to see a lot of thunderstorms this year after virtually none last year.
I'm not holding my breath, because they've been wrong a LOT over the last year, but here's to a "rainy" rest of the week.
