We live in North Dakota, hunting is a way of life for many around here. All the hunters that are in my life respect wildlife and would never kill an animal just because they could. Furthermore, the hunters I know wouldn't mass-slaughter a bunch of animals and leave them to rot. Unfortunately, someone in North Dakota did, and the Game and Fish Department needs our help finding the poacher/poachers.

According to a Facebook post from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, between April 25th and April 30th, five adult moose were shot and killed by poachers near Dunseith. The post says that there were two male moose and three females. Not only were these five adults murdered, but one of the females was pregnant with triplets. As you can guess, those little lives were lost, too.

Just when you think this news can't get worse, it does. According to the Game and Fish Department, the pregnant moose had two of her three babies cut from her stomach. I'm not an expert on killing animals, but this is not acceptable behavior. This is a cruel and sickening way for an animal's life to end.

There is a post on the North Dakota Game and Fish's Facebook page with pictures of the poor moose. I am reposting their post, so be aware that you will see the photos below. It's a heartbreaking sight to see.

If you have information, you can call Report All Poachers at 701-328-9921 or Jonathan Tofteland, Game and Fish Department district game warden, at 701-201-0703. A $2,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to a conviction.
