Tuesdays get a pretty bum rap. They're one day closer to the weekend than Mondays, but still not as close as Wednesdays. Tuesdays do have one saving grace, though: tacos.

I don't know exactly how Tuesdays got partnered up with tacos. I'm guessing it has something to do with alliteration, but, who really cares?

I sure as hell don't, because Taco Tuesdays have slowly become my favorite day of the week! So, without further ado, here are five places in Bismarck you should head to to celebrate 'Taco Tuesday,' in no particular order.

    Arnaldos - 1030 Airport Rd.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in Bismarck, Arnaldos is the place to go. It's a bit off the beaten path and a relatively small restaurant, but the food more than makes up for it. With their taco plate, which will only set you back $7.50, you get three tacos, with your choice of beef, chicken or pork. Everything is fresh, homemade, and delicious. Make sure you get their homemade chips and salsa, too.

    La Carreta - 505 E. Bismarck Expy

Another authentic Mexican restaurant in Bismarck, which just opened up within the past couple of years, is La Carreta. Much like Arnaldos, La Carreta is small, but the food you get is absolutely fantastic and the service is top notch, too. The tacos are exactly what you'd expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant, but there other options are just as good.

    Los Molcajetes - 1101 S. 12th St.

Another fairly new Mexican restaurant in Bismarck is Los Molcajetes. The restaurant began as a food truck, before moving into the Kirkwood Mall and now their location at S. 12th St. With so many places to enjoy Los Molcajetes, there's no reason to not stop into one of them next Tuesday to mow down some of their delicious tacos. Their chips and salsa, similar to the previously mentioned restaurants, is also absolutely awesome.

    Taco Del Mar - 1024 S. 12th St.

I'm a freak for burritos and Taco Del Mar is easily one of my favorite burrito spots in Bismarck, but their Baja Fish Tacos are on point, too. Of course, you can get your tacos filled with any kind of meat. Honestly, I haven't had a single thing at Taco Del Mar that I didn't enjoy. So, whatever you're in the mood for, you'll probably like what Taco Del Mar has to offer.

    Taco Johns - Multiple Locations

Before you start questioning why I included a fast food place on the list, here me out, ok? First and foremost, Taco Johns actually celebrates Taco Tuesday with a deal on their beef tacos all day. Plus, have you ever had a 6-pack and a Pound from Taco Johns? Six tacos and a pound of Potato Oles can cure whatever ails you, as far as I'm concerned. Sure, there tacos may not be as 'authentic' as some others, but if you're in a hurry, Taco Johns delivers a solid taco. Oh, and Potato Oles. Have I mentioned those? I did? Ok, never mind.
