If you've driven down Bismarck Expressway recently, you've probably noticed the demolition of the old Famous Dave's location. Construction crews have already cleared the lot and started building something new, and it turns out the site will be home to two businesses.

Two New Businesses to Take Over Famous Dave's Lot

The former Famous Dave's sat at 401 East Bismarck Expressway, across from the Kirkwood Mall, and served the Bismarck-Mandan area for years before closing. According to Bismarck's Community Activities Map, the site's new chapter will look a lot different. The lot will soon be home to a second 7 Brew Coffee and a Chase Bank. Both of these projects have already been approved, and construction is underway.

This news comes just after the grand opening of Bismarck's first 7 Brew Coffee. It opened a month ago, in August 2026, on State Street, between McDonald's and Arby's. 7Brew Coffee is a rapidly growing national chain that has recently opened locations in several other North Dakota cities: Williston (December 2025), Grand Forks (May 2025), West Fargo (June 2026), Fargo (August 2026) and Minot (July 2026).

No opening dates have been announced for either the 7 Brew Coffee shop or Chase Bank, but with construction already underway, drivers likely won't have to wait long before they see signs going up.
