CONFIRMED: Bismarck’s Francesca’s Store Is Closing Permanently

Francesca's is a store many of us enjoy going to for cute accessories, dresses, and other fun trinkets. There's hardly a time I've gone to the Kirkwood Mall without popping in to see what's new in the store.

As of right now, there are 450 Francesca's locations nationwide, and a total of 3 in North Dakota: Minot, Bismarck, and Fargo.

Last month, we reported that many Francesca's clothing stores would be closing nationwide. According to The Street, the company has more than $250 million in unpaid invoices. This left many of us worrying about the fate of our North Dakota stores.

Store Closures

Sadly, after a trip to the Kirkwood Mall this past weekend, it looks like the rumors are true. Signs are posted throughout the Bismarck store stating that it will close soon. Currently, the store has marked down its entire inventory and is preparing for a permanent closure. I spoke with employees in the store, and they informed me that the store will close next week, before the end of February.

We looked into whether or not the Fargo store would still be in business, and unfortunately, according to KVRR, the West Acres store is also leaving. While it gives other businesses an opportunity to set up shop in our North Dakota malls, it is still sad to see Francesca's go.
