I would imagine you are like me, you love living in Bismarck-Mandan, you have a job or two and you have watched the increase in rent and price of houses. How do you live in a place that may not be easy on your pocket? It's hard because paying $1000- $2000 a month in rent doesn't seem to make sense. So then you think of buying- do you buy a house, condo or do you build? What if you are not ready to make a commitment or don't have enough saved to buy a home? Then you look for places to rent. There are a lot of rental options but what if you have a dog? Here are my best steps after maneuvering through our housing market.

)Use Bis-Man Online- it's helped me in finding roommates, rental options and homes for sale by owner.

)It's about who you know- want to buy a house you need a good bank and Realtor, want to find an affordable apartment you have to know people who are looking to rent right away.

)Be diligent in your search- call listings, email, do neighborhood drive through's.

)Be flexible- in life you will not always get what you want, sometimes it's figuring out what you need .
