Insurance Fraud Charges for UT Man After 23 Crashes

Navid Monjazeb, of Salt Lake City, Utah, is facing charges of insurance fraud after staging 23 vehicular crashes in order to collect claim funds.

Suspicions were raised after one insurance company saw a pattern involving similar claims on a single vehicle.

Investigators were able prove that at least some of the damages to the car on which Monjazeb had filed the claims, had actually occurred before the crashes had.

Monjazeb racked up 12 counts of fraud, along with the $55,000 he conned various insurers out of over five years.
