I know what you're thinking the split second you saw the cover picture of this article

"Honey, it's that time of the year!!!" - Yesterday, I saw a post on my friend's Facebook page, and my sweet tooth awakened once more. Girl Scout cookies are back! Time to meet one of Mandan's finest :) - Say "Hello" to 12-year-old Rose Ryckman, a student at Mandan Middle School.

Troop 87058

"She started in kindergarten. 8 years being a gs - Every year she chooses an organization to donate cookies and with the tips at the end she buys the cookies and if there's any money left over from the tips it goes with the cookies to the organization she chooses.

She started doing that by herself. She has done the local police station, fire station, nurses, veterans, a local veteran motorcycle club.

This year she's doing the local emt.

She has learned to become more confident and learning how to stay positive even when people are rude and snippy with her while she's selling the cookies.

She smiles and says thank you.

With her troop they have grown and with selling the cookies they have learned great skills for organization how to plan and execute it and supporting each other"

I think the coolest thing is when you see Rose and other Girl Scouters out and about town, the above picture was taken at the Cennex across the street from our radio station here in Mandan - a very proud grandmother ( Melanie ) took the photo. Make sure you say "Hi" and pick yourself up a box or two!
