Has There Ever Been A Video Game Based On North Dakota?
Ok, now, time to open up your mind a little bit, make that ALOT
I'm pretty sure most gamers who pick up a video game controller have never even thought about this question: "Has There Ever Been A Video Game Based On North Dakota?" ..I mean, you don't have to be a gamer to enjoy playing video games. For all you old-timers, just think about how much video games have evolved throughout the years.
When and what was the first video game ever?
If your guess was Pong, around the early 70s, you would be wrong. According to aps.org "In October 1958, Physicist William Higinbotham created what is thought to be the first video game. It was a very simple tennis game, similar to the classic 1970s video game Pong, and it was quite a hit at a Brookhaven National Laboratory open house. They called the game Tennis for Two." Do you remember playing or seeing Pong when you were growing up here in Bismarck?
Video games cover almost everything these days
You can find anything from sports, horror, science fiction, and any other kind of entertainment imaginable on video games. So let me ask you this: "Has there ever been a video game based on North Dakota?" IF you said "Yes" you would be correct!. According to reddit.com " Where in North Dakota Is Carmen Sandiego? is a 1989 edutainment video game. Although 5,000 school copies were sold to schools in the region, the game has become extremely rare and only three retail copies are known to exist. There is currently no proof that retail copies were ever sold in stores"
I'm going to take a wild stab on this, but I'm pretty sure you won't find a copy of this game at any LOCAL or NATIONAL video game store. Just wondering if they say "You Betcha" in the game at least once or twice.
