The "secrets revealed" theme on this week's episodes of 'The Talk' continued yesterday when co-host (and 'Big Brother' host) Julie Chen revealed that in her early days as a local news reporter about 20 years ago, she was told her career would go no further unless she had plastic surgery to make her eyes appear "less Asian." And she did.

"This one big-time agent basically [said], 'I cannot represent you unless you get plastic surgery to make your eyes look better.' He then whips out a list of plastic surgeons who have done this procedure," Chen, now 43, recalled.

"The agent said, 'You're good at what you do. And if you get this plastic surgery done, you're going straight to the top.'"

Her family was divided about the whole thing, but her parents eventually agreed not only to back her decision to have the surgery, but to pay for the procedure too.

"After I had it done, the ball did roll for me," she confessed. "And I wondered, did I give into the man?"

But in the end, she says it was worth it, adding, "It got me to where we are today. And I'm not going to look back."
