Lewis & Clark Riverboat Robbed – Again
Is nothing sacred? For the second time in a month the Lewis and Clark Riverboat on the Missouri River in Bismarck has been burglarized.
Local police, in a report to the Tribune, say last week someone broke into the main cabin through a window, smashing that window, and taking about $500 worth of property, including $200 worth of alcohol. Total damage to the boat was estimated at
$500.
The Tribune reports riverboat also was burglarized in late July. At that time the boat was robbed of $300 in cash. Total damage was estimated at just under $500 at that time as well.
The Lewis and Clark Riverboat is owned and operated by the Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to preserve and promote the history of Fort Lincoln.
No word is available at this time on how the fall schedule for the riverboat may be affected.
