You don't have to be a huge fan of Macklemore to realize that he is a good person inside and out. The 'Thrift Shop' rapper took time out of his uber busy schedule to visit with a young fan, who was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia, in a Vermont hospital.

Macklemore's fan, Sam, is a normal kid who should be celebrating the end of his junior year of high school, but instead was delivered the news that he has leukemia and had to start chemotherapy immediately if he wanted to beat his disease. Not only did Macklemore go visit Sam in the hospital, but he wasn't even going to post about it on the Internet -- but Sam's BFF luckily posted the picture of the rapper on Reddit.

So, since Macks was outed as an all-around good person, he penned an open letter about life, death and his fan Sam. The rapper wrote, "It’s one of those stories that reminds you how fragile life is, gives you a reality check on your own issues, and make you appreciate the health of you and your loved ones more than ever." He really puts things in perspective. Other pop stars, please read this letter!

He continued, "Being a rapper is one of the most narcissistic careers in the world. You are surrounded by yourself: interviews, Twitter, Facebook, Billboard charts, YouTube plays, shows, the crowds, awards etc. Fame suffocates the spirit and consumes you if you let it. You wake up thinking about you, and go to bed thinking about you. That’s not a good place to be." Could he be any more loveable? We seriously don't think so. After reading this heartfelt letter, we just have one thing to say, Macklmore for President 2016!

Our sincerest wishes also go out to Sam and his family. We wish him a healthy and speedy recovery.
