Nothing feels more like summer here in BisMan than when you are out on an evening stroll, and you walk past a dog park filled with excited four-legged furry animals and their two-legged owner. The beauty of a special place is to be able to let man's best friend roam around without a leash. The Dog Town Dog Park And Sitting Bull Park in Mandan is one of the paradises in BisMan where you can relax and let your favorite sidekick roam around with others - it's as easy as that, sort of.

There are some recommended tips while you are there - mandanparks :

  • Park Hours: Open 5 am –11 pm
  • Use the Dog Park at your own risk. Owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries caused by them.
  • Dogs are allowed off leash in dog park areas only; Mandan City Ordinance 16-03-02. Owners must carry a leash at all times. Dogs should be leashed before entering and prior to leaving the dog park.
  • Dogs must wear a collar, carry ID tags, be properly licensed and vaccinated, be parasite-free and in healthy condition.
  • Owners must remain in the dog park with their dogs at all times.
  • Dogs must be leashed when maintenance crews are working in the dog park.
  • No children under the age of 12 allowed in the dog park without adult supervision
  • Owners must pick up and dispose of dog feces.
  • No more than two dogs per handler at any time.

According to the Bismarcktribune Just recently The Mandan Park Board made a decision on a recent survey whether or not to build a divider. Monday's unanimous vote to forgo the divider came after the board received mixed results from community input surveys prompted by some dog owners voicing concerns about safety risks at the park.

Bottom line - money was a huge issue for the failure of the proposed divider. Some had expressed their opinion on spending the money in other ways to enhance the park.
