In news that we all saw coming, Mariah Carey has officially announced that she will not be returning as a judge on 'American Idol' for Season 13.

Rumors were swirling that all four judges would be out for the next season and with the newest announcement from Carey's PR agency -- it seems like those rumors were totally truthful. Mariah's PR peeps (or tweeps in this case) tweeted:

The FOX network issued a joint statement with FremantleMedia (the production company behind 'Idol) that read (via E! News), "Mariah Carey is a true global icon — one of the most accomplished artists on the planet — and we feel  extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the 'American Idol' contestants this season. We know she will remain an inspiration to 'Idol' hopefuls for many seasons to come."

Only the fate of Keith Urban remains a mystery. Nicki Minaj is most likely out as a judge as well with sources saying she would not be returning due to her busy touring and recording schedules. Veteran panelist Randy Jackson also quit the show after his 12th (very drama-filled!) season.

There have been rumors than an all 'Idol' alum panel was in the works, but so far it seems only Jennifer Hudson is the only former contestant to sign on in any capacity. There were also whispers of Kelly Clarkson taking over as a judge, though her rep denied that.

So who will join J. Hud (and maybe Keith Urban?) on Season 13 of 'Idol'? It could be anyone at this point! J. Lo, keep your phone on your person at all times. Why do we think it might be ringing?
