I don't think any type of disheartening news that comes our way in 2020 is surprising anymore. Now, we can add another North Dakota show to the cancellations/ postponements/ reschedules list - Maroon 5 and Megan Trainor's show at the Fargodome will be rescheduled. In fact, the whole tour will be postponed until 2021.

I first saw the news on Facebook this morning, so I had to check it out for myself. I headed to Maroon 5's tour page and sure enough, every show is postponed. I think we can expect that we really won't be seeing any of our favorite artists live this year. I live for music, and there is no experience like seeing your favorite bands in concert. It's heartbreaking.

At this point, I'm torn about social distancing. I mean, the world doesn't stop turning for anything, much less a virus. While I do understand that this is all meant to "flatten the curve" and keep our world as safe and healthy as possible, how "healthy" is it that we've put a stop to everything we know? We can't live our lives locked in our houses, shut-in from society forever.

Also, we really don't have a lot that goes on in North Dakota. Sure, we live in a beautiful state, and we can spend time outdoors in the summer, but that's not the only thing that we like to do. We love concerts and events, and it's always exciting when we have a huge show come to our state. For some of us, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to see our favorite bands when they come to town. I sure hope that some day soon, we can go back to our "old normal."
