If you're over the age of 12 you're eligible to get tested Saturday May 2nd at the Event Center parking lot. The testing is free and according to a press release from Bismarck Burleigh Public Health

The testing event focus will be separated into two categories:

• Retailers providing essential services will be tested from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

• Symptomatic individuals over the age of 12 will be tested from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until testing supplies have been exhausted.

Bismarck Burleigh Public Health Director Renae Moch who provides daily local COVID-19 updates on our Town Square radio stations also added this-

Our goal is to conduct this testing event quickly, but more importantly, safely for staff at this event, as well as the individuals tested.”

This event gives frontline workers an opportunity to get some peace of mind.  My daughter who lives in Fargo came down with the flu this week.  She was diagnosed with the flu but since her fever had been high for sometime it was recommended she take a drive through COVID-19 test as well.  Which she did Friday afternoon. She called me and said it was quick and the nose swab was only "uncomfortable".  My dad had the test a month ago and described it about the same.

So my peace of mind won't come until I hear my daughters test results.  But if you fit the criteria for Saturday's test- by all means get one.
