The Minnesota Vikings continued to strengthen the defensive side of the ball by using their first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft on Michigan State cornerback Trae Waynes.

Waynes, the 11th pick of the draft, had three interceptions for the Spartans in the 2014 season, along with 43 tackles and one sack.

Unlike previous years, the Vikings only had one draft pick in the first round this year. Their second pick of the 2015 NFL Draft won't take place until the second round at pick 45.

Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota went second to the Tennessee Titans.
