The Minnesota Vikings cut their practice short on Tuesday, August 30th, after quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went down with an apparent leg injury.

Head coach Mike Zimmer addressed the media at 4 p.m. He stated that Bridgewater suffered a severe knee injury, though the extent of the injury is not known at this time.

Bridgewater was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, according to

Drafted 32nd overall by the Vikings in the 2014 NFL Draft, Bridgewater has started 28 games over the past two seasons. He was hoping to build on a successful 2015 campaign that saw the Vikings win their first division title since 2009.

Veteran Shaun Hill is second on the Vikings' depth chart.
