A moose sighting was reported on Bismarck's People Reporting News Facebook page early this morning (Thursday, Oct. 1st). A woman named Emme Wenzlawe posted photos and videos warning residents and business owners in North Bismarck.

The moose was spotted in the Gateway Mall parking lot.

"A Moose was hanging out in the gateway parking lot this morning! Police chased her out, I believe, as she's not here anymore currently! But made my morning to see. I was completely taken aback when I saw her and thought I was losing my mind," said Wenzlawe.

As you can see, the moose is massive - it's nearly taller than the car it's standing next to. Luckily, the Bismarck Police Department was able to shoo the animal away, and we haven't heard of any other sightings in the area at this time.

If you see the moose, remember to exercise extreme caution. As tempting as it is to hold up traffic and gawk at it, you should refrain from doing that. These are very large animals that can weigh as much as 1,600lbs and can be aggressive when they feel threatened. If you spot one, report it to ND Game and Fish and/or the Bismarck Police Department. That said, typically, we must wait for the animal to wander out of town on its own.
