NBC’s ‘Dateline’ to Feature Minot Murder Case
On Monday, August 13th, NBC's 'Dateline' will feature the story of a murder conspiracy that took place in Minot, ND.
Back in May, a former Kindergarten teacher by the name of Cynthia Wilder was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for assisting in the brutal murder of her husband's ex-wife, Angila Wilder, that occurred in November 2015. Wilder's husband, Richie Edwin Wilder Jr., was sentenced to life in prison for the murder in May 2017.
Cynthia Wilder told a former lover, working as a confidential informant for the Minot police, that she had helped plan the murder. She told the informant that she helped stake out Angila Wilder's home to know when she would be there and helped clean up blood evidence from her car. Cynthia Wilder also admitted to having knowledge of Richie Wilder Jr.'s aborted plan to escape Ward County Jail in August 2016.
Angila Wilder was stabbed 44 times and was pregnant at the time of her death. Richie Wilder Jr.'s DNA was found under her fingernails.
The interview with the confidential informant will be featured on Monday night's episode of 'Dateline' on NBC at 9 p.m.
