The National Football League is coming down on Carolina Panters CB Josh Norman for the patriotic tribute to his grandfather that was imprinted on his cleats.

The NFL has a pretty strict uniform policy, and having the words "Proud Brave" on the cleat was in violation of this policy. Because of which, the NFL has fined Norman $5,000 for wearing them in Carolina's game against Green Bay on November 8th.

Norman plans of appealing the fine hoping to have the fine reduced. He did this last year when he was fined $11,000 for wearing silver cleats during a game. That fine was reduced by half.

Norman isn't the only player that is getting fined for wearing tributes during the game. Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams was fined for having a breast cancer awareness ribbon on his eye black, as well as his teammate, defensive lineman Cameron Heyward was fined for a tribute to his father in his eye black.

Norman plans on auctioning off the cleats and giving the proceeds of the sale to support the troops at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.
