Convertibles are not a very popular vehicle in North Dakota.

The totally surprising news that a region where it is cold for at least 8 months out of the year does not buy a lot of convertibles comes from a new report released by Cars.com.

The Cars.com report also notes that in general, convertible sales are among the lowest amount of cars sold across the country likely due to their cost and their lack of practicality in most areas that experience weather changes. Convertibles account for just 0.8 percent of sales at dealerships.

Florida has the most convertible sales, followed, weirdly, by Connecticut. Maryland, California and New Jersey rounded out the top five.

North Dakota of course had the least sales followed by Idaho, Alaska, Vermont, and Montana. Apparently the states that first come to mind when you think of snow don't care for convertibles.

North Dakota also had the second least amount of people even interested in purchasing a convertible. Kansas was No. 1 in that category.

We're definitely truck and SUV people around these parts.
