North Dakota Is Getting A Massive New Department Store

People constantly say that they would like to see more department stores come to North Dakota after so many have closed over the years.

They miss the all-in-one-place, in-person shopping experience. Online shopping isn't doing it for us anymore. Mailing things that don't fit back and forth is exhausting. Many like to see the size and quality of a product in person before they buy it.

Good news if you're looking for a place to find everything from clothing to footwear, jewelry, handbags, and beauty products.

Have you ever heard of Von Maur? It's a large upscale department store scattered across 15 states (soon to be 16). Newsweek named it the "Top Department Store" in 2022.

The store is expanding, and we are next on the list to get one.

What to Expect & Opening Date

The store is already ready to open to the public. If you've driven by the West Acres Mall, you might have seen the signs up already.

A representative for the store posted a video to Facebook explaining what you can expect to see in the store and give us a sneak peek; it looks pretty fancy.

Not only that, it is massive—90,000 square feet, to be exact. They announced the store would be coming to the mall in 2023 and have worked tirelessly to renovate, stock, and prepare the space for North Dakota shoppers.

After years of preparation, the store is ready to open to the public. According to the West Acres Mall Facebook page, Von Maur will be opening very soon -- on April 5th!
