Valentine's Day is almost here! You may choose to spend the night out on the town or decide that some quality time is best for you and your sweetheart.

If you opted for the second option, you probably plan on lighting some candles, cooking a delicious dinner (Pssst, they see heart-shaped steaks at...), and watching a romantic movie.

Which Movie To Watch

Obviously, you can watch whatever tickles your fancy, but if you want to watch one of the most popular rom-coms that most North Dakotans are going for, I'm happy to provide that information.

A survey was done by AllAboutCookies.org, looking at search trends, and it found the most popular rom-com in each state.

Most Popular Rom-Com Overall

Before I tell you which rom-com is North Dakota's favorite, you might be interested in learning which romance movie is the most popular in the entire country.

According to the source, most people will be puckering up to Grease this year.

I got into a heated debate about this with my coworkers.

One of us thinks it doesn't count as a comedy, another says it should only fall under the 'musical' umbrella, and the other says it's not really romantic.

Despite our differences of opinions there, we all collectively agreed it shouldn't have won the top rom-com spot.

North Dakota's Favorite Rom-Com

North Dakotans are the only ones who chose this movie as their favorite rom-com, and honestly, I'm surprised.

The number one rom-com in North Dakota is The Girl Next Door.

The movie came out in 2004, and it stars Emile Hirsch.

Did you like this movie? Do you think The Princess Bride should forever win this title (cough cough)? Send us a message in the app and let us know!
