Why Being Single in North Dakota Isn’t So Bad After All

It's not always easy being single. You might get a little lonely from time to time, and you might get stressed and overwhelmed, trying to keep up with household chores and bills, but being single does have its perks.

Advantages To Being Single

For starters, you get to take up the whole bed and hog the covers every night.

You get to eat whatever you want for dinner, no compromising necessary.

No one is there to judge you for your laundry chair that is always overflowing. That's nice.

You can wear your ugly underpants all the time.

No one is around to tell you that you can't adopt another cat.

If you don't feel like doing dishes, you can just leave them in the sink, because no one is there to gripe at you.

You can embrace your inner woolly mammoth and choose not to shave for a month or two.

You get all of the closet space to yourself.

It's nice and quiet around the house when you need it to be.

Oh, and most importantly, you can adjust the thermostat to WHATEVER YOU WANT. - That's the most important one.

North Dakota Single Celebration

Yes, being single has its advantages, and it's something you should celebrate. As a matter of fact, this month, in North Dakota, you get to celebrate your single lifestyle for an entire week.

According to National Day Calendar, 47 percent of adults in the U.S. are single, and there are more single women than men

To help North Dakotans embrace their single lifestyles, the third week of September has been dubbed "National Singles Week."

So, how can a woman celebrate Singles Week in North Dakota? Well, I have a few ideas.

1. Go on a Romantic Getaway

When I say "Romantic getaway," I mean take yourself on a guilt-free trip to Target, Ulta, and HomeGoods. That's self-care if I've ever heard it.

2. Go on a Hot Date

By hot date, I mean, put on your comfiest pants, go to Taco Bell, and get the sloppiest, messiest pile of tacos, and eat your heart out.

3. Go to Therapy

Put on a face mask, put on your guilty pleasure girl show, and become a vegetable for the night. Binge until your body hurts from lying down.
