The Olympics in Rio will get underway on August 5th. North Dakota is not at all represented on Team USA.

On Saturday, Team USA released the official Team USA roster and North Dakota is nowhere to be found.

None of the members of the 555 person roster were born in the state of North Dakota, raised in the state of North Dakota, or currently live in the state of North Dakota. Additionally, none of the athletes attended a college or university in North Dakota.

North Dakota is one of four states not represented at the Olympics for Team USA. Montana, West Virginia, and Wyoming are also not represented. However, Universities in Wyoming and West Virginia are represented.

That is not to say that North Dakota is not being represented in the Olympics though. Erin Teschuk, a runner at North Dakota State University will be competing in Rio. However Teschuk is from Winnipeg and will compete for Team Canada.

The Olympic Games begin on August 5th and can be viewed on NBC owned channels and streamed on NBC digital platforms.
