It's always great to see job opportunities in our state. People move from different states, cities, even countries to come here and work.

Have you ever wondered what job is really booming in North Dakota? - Which job is growing at the fastest rate?

A study was published by Stacker for 2024, naming the top 50 fastest growing jobs in our state. Now, I'm not going to go through all 50, but I will give you the top 5.

Prepare to be surprised.

5. Highway Maintenance Workers

Ok, so this one might not be too shocking. I mean, just look at all the construction we suffer through ever year.

From 2022 to 2023 there was more than a 30% increase in employment in position.

4. Managers

Whether it be for a local grocery store or restaurant, this is one of the fastest growing jobs in North Dakota. It makes sense, just look at all the new restaurants opening.

From 2022 to 2023 there was more than a 32.1% increase in employment in position.

3. Cement Masons and Concrete Finishers

We definitely need roads and sidewalks. As our North Dakota communities grow, we need more and more people to do this job.

From 2022 to 2023 there was more than a 34.1% increase in employment in position.

2. Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanics

Whether it be for annual repairs or expansion, we need big machines to do a number of jobs. If something goes wrong with one, we need someone who knows what they're doing and can fix it.

From 2022 to 2023 there was more than a 34.3% increase in employment in position.

1. Amusement and Recreation Attendants

Yes, this is the number one fastest growing job in North Dakota. I'll admit, I wasn't expecting this one.

From 2022 to 2023 there was more than a 39.6% increase in employment in position.
