The Original Avengers Cast Got Matching Tattoos
Avengers 4 doesn’t come out for another year but the Avengers have already finished their work on the film (barring any additional reshoots to include much, much more Hawkeye, as the fans demand). That concludes a major chapter in the lives of the actors who played the six original Avengers: Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Chris Evans. And the actors (minus Ruffalo, who apparently passed on the opportunity to be one of the cool kids) chose to mark the occasion by marking their skin with matching tattoos.
The Avengers’ ‘A’ logo would have been a solid choice, but also a bit too obvious; plenty of people have those already. Instead, the cast got a unique logo that includes the Avengers’ A, along with references to each of the individual characters (minus Mark Ruffalo, who, again, decided he is not cool).
By getting matching ink, the Avengers stars are following in the footsteps of the cast of The Lord of the Rings, who got matching tattoos after the completion of The Return of the King to mark the completion of their long fictional journey together.
If you’ve seen Avengers: Infinity War (and yes here comes a SPOILER, so beware) you know that all the original Avengers are among the survivors of Thanos’ final deletion of half of the universe. That almost guarantees us at least one more scene where the original Avengers assemble to kick bad-guy butt in Avengers 4. Maybe they can even touch tattoos to combine their powers or something.
