Pete Wentz Talks Ashlee Simpson Divorce

So why did Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson really break up? In the May issue of Rolling Stone,Pete Wentz opens up about his drug addiction to anti-anxiety medications Xanax and Klonopin. Pete has been open about his drug battles, including his suicide attempt in 2005. Pete stopped taking drugs when his son was born in 2008 and then relapsed in 2009 when Fall Out Boy went on an indefinite hiatus.

What saved Pete Wentz? Why is he clean today?

"His devotion to his 4-year-old son that seems to have helped him pull himself together the most.You’re up in the morning, and you have to really be there. It’s not like getting up for a radio interview. In some ways, that was superhelpful for my soul," he told Rolling Stone. "There was a jump-cut in my life. I started thinking -- like, being old would be cool."
