Rachel Bilson says co-parenting with ex-partner Hayden Christensen is still a "work in progress."

The 36-year-old actress said in an interview with People that she puts aside her "anger" with the 37-year-old actor to focus on their daughter, 3-year-old Briar Rose.

"We're still kind of trying to figure it out," Bilson told the magazine. "It's a tricky one. And I don't know that there is any right way, necessarily."

"We say Mommy has a house and Daddy has a house but she's pretty young to have an in-depth conversation," she said. "Most important for me is that Briar is OK and secure and stable. No matter what I'm dealing with or how much it hurts or how much anger there is, it's just about her."

Bilson split from Christensen in September after 10 years of dating. E! News said at the time that the pair had "a gradual buildup of issues and problems."

"They have very different lifestyles and interests," a source said. "Rachel is very social and likes to hang out with friends. Hayden is reclusive and off the grid."

Bilson called Briar her "true love" in a cute Instagram post this week.

"Sundays in park...... #truelove," she captioned the photo.

Bilson is known for playing Summer Roberts on The O.C. and Dr. Zoe Hart on Hart of Dixie. She portrays Sam Swift on the new ABC series Take Two, which premiered last week.
