Remove This From Your Car, It’s Illegal In North Dakota
There are so many laws in North Dakota; you probably don't even know many of them exist.
For a long time, people have always said doing this one thing is illegal. Though, I've never seen or heard of anyone getting pulled over for it, and I see people do it all the time without concern.
So, what's the truth? I know you're probably wondering what the heck I'm talking about. I'll tell you.
What Is It?
I'm talking about hanging things from your rearview mirror. Flower leis, fuzzy dice, air fresheners, work badges, and even face masks. People will hang all kind of things from their mirrors.
Why Is It Illegal?
In North Dakota, and several other states such as Texas, Illinois, California, and Pennsylvania, it is illegal to have anything hanging from the mirror that obstructs your view. This is according to Inform.com.
The source explains this is also true for parking permits. Oddly enough, we can't hang them from our rear view, but the are literally designed for that.
Exhibit A:
Getting Pulled Over
If you get pulled over for having something hanging on you mirror, I have to assume the officer is having a really slow day, and/or you're looking really sus, and they needed a reason to pull you over, because that's fine typically only ranges between $50 and $100.
That seems hardly a reason to get out of the car, and into the North Dakota cold.
In any case, now you know. I hope this information has helped you.
