I'm sure you remember what it was like, being a kid, going to school every day. I'm sure you remember all of the fun things about school: Recess, music classes, being around your friends all day, hoping someone would start a food fight in the cafeteria, prom, and art classes. There are so many things that we look back at now fondly.

That said, at the time, we didn't always see it as fun. After all, we had to walk to our bus stops in the cold, sit in uncomfortable desks, take tests every week, and do hours and hours of homework every night.

School isn't just difficult for kids either. Parents have a lot on their plates as well. They have to get their kids to school, juggle work responsibilities, and get their kids to after-school programs.

Biggest Issue For Kids And Parents

So, what is the biggest pain when it comes to school days for kids and parents alike? Asking around Bismarck-Mandan, I think I got the answer. The overwhelming response was getting kids out of bed.

North Dakota parents know all too well that it is quite the struggle waking their kids in the morning. You pop into their rooms and give them a gentle wake-up reminder. Ten minutes will pass, and they are still in bed. That wakeup call gets a little less gentle the second time around. If you have to go into their room a third time, the frustration hits a critical peak, and the whole morning turns into a mad rush.

These are some phrases you will often hear after this.

"Hurry, you're running late. You will miss your bus."

"Did you brush your teeth?"

"Mom, I can't find my backpack!"

"Let's goooo!"
