According to a new survey from christmas.co (28%) of North Dakotan's would feel safer this Christmas with a Zoom or virtual Christmas.  Deck the halls, there really is a Santa Claus Rusty, no in-laws are coming over this year.  Okay, I'm totally kidding.  Even,  I would be sad with no family members stopping by this Holiday season.  Even cousin Eddie.

Other findings from the survey, over half of North Dakota (57%) expects to spend Christmas away from extended family and friends.  However, (47%) of NoDak's would break the law and spend Christmas with family anyway, if we went into lockdown.  That a boy Rusty.  That's the North Dakota spirit I'm used to.   The article went on to say that 75% of Americans say Christmas is the most difficult time of year to spend without family around. This was followed by Thanksgiving (18%), Birthdays (6%) and Easter (1%).

I don't know about you, but I would have no issues with family members coming to my house for Christmas in this new COVID-19 world of ours.  You just take the necessary precautions and call it good.  Now, Grand Ma and Grand Pa would have to take even more precautions.  Of course all of this depends on how the pandemic is trending this fall.  At the time of this article we are still averaging about 900 deaths a day in the United States and over a 110,000 people have died due to COVID-19.  It's estimated that in 2019 somewhere between 24,000 and 62,000 people lost their life due to the flu.  At the time of the this article 115,000 people in the United States have died from coronavirus.  The number of daily deaths continue to decline thankfully, but we still have half of a year remaining.

Let's hope a second spike is not on the way this fall and we can enjoy time with family and friends over the holidays.
