Even though she's been moving in more of a catchy pop direction, the songs on Taylor Swift's 'Red' album still possess heart and lyrical depth, as she proved during an acoustic performances of three of its tracks in Nashville.

The footage was filmed in August but did not appear on the singer's YouTube page until now. The video depicts Swift sitting on a chair with her guitar in front of a small room full of fans for the intimate gig, during which she plays 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' 'Treacherous,' and '22,' all from 'Red.'

Swift adds commentary between songs, calling her 'Never Ever' co-writers Max Martin and Shellback "two of my songwriting heroes." Taylor also explains that she and her collaborators were writing a different song when an ex's friend stopped in the studio and asked if she was getting back together with the unnamed ex. That led Martin to suggest the new song, which became Swift's first No. 1 pop single.

She says the ballad 'Treacherous' is written about "when you're falling for someone and you know that it's dangerous, and you know that it could really, really, really annihilate you if it were to not work out. And it could possibly not work out. And it probably won't work out, but you go for it anyway."

Before playing '22,' the songstress explains she wrote the up-tempo track about "all the ridiculous nonsense that my friends and I got into" at age 22. Hopefully age 23 has a lot more songwriting material in store for Ms. Swift!
