It's always interesting to see what movies are most favored amongst fellow residents of the Peace Garden State, especially when it comes to Christmas-themed films.

At this time of year, you're likely either binge-watching your favorite shows or you're wanting to get in a festive mood with a Christmas movie. If that's the case, you might be either watching the Hallmark Channel non-stop or possibly watching the Christmas movie that North Dakota has Googled the most, which is definitely a solid choice. As it turns out, the most Googled Christmas movie in North Dakota is 'Home Alone'.

Streaming Observer compiled the research throughout the country to find out what movies were Googled the most in each state.

Other states preferred such Christmas films as 'A Christmas Story', 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas', 'Elf', 'Scrooged', 'Gremlins', 'Batman Returns', and 'Die Hard'. And yes, 'Die Hard' is a Christmas movie! It's just as much a Christmas movie as 'Home Alone' is. Same premise: The protagonist thwarts the villains' plan and it just happens to be Christmas time (spoiler alert). Also, there is definitely brutal violence involved.

Neighboring states had other favorites such as 'White Christmas' in Minnesota, 'Christmas in Connecticut' in Montana, and 'Frosty the Snowman' in South Dakota.

No matter what your personal favorite Christmas movie is, it's always entertaining to see Kevin McCallister outsmart the Wet Bandits (spoiler alert again), or you may prefer to see John McClane get the drop on Hans Gruber (ha, pun). Have an awesome holiday movie viewing season, North Dakota!
