Applying to colleges can be a long, stressful, and tedious process. Once the process is finished, the applicant is then forced to wait and wait and wait. Some schools are really tough to get into.

North Dakota has two big universities in North Dakota State and the University of North Dakota. However there are many other very good schools sprinkled all throughout the state.

Which one of those many schools is the hardest to gain acceptance?

Niche.com puts out rankings every year. They base their information on the acceptance rate and the required SAT and ACT scores to get in.

Believe it or not, the hardest school to get into in North Dakota is Minot State University. According to the rankings, the SAT score of the 25th percentile is 1310 while the 25th percentile ACT score is 20. For the 75th percentile, the SAT score is 1590 while the ACT score in that percentile is 25.

The acceptance rate at Minot State University is 56.6%.

The second hardest school to get into is Dickinson State University though their acceptance rate is even lower than Minot State's at just 48.7%.

The University of North Dakota has an acceptance rate of 73.7% while North Dakota State accepts 84.1% of applicants. UND is the 4th hardest school to get into in the state. NDSU is the 6th hardest to get into.

Harvard University is the hardest school in the country to get into accepting only 5.8% of applicants.
