BISMARCK, ND – For the first time in program history, the University of Mary hockey team is ranked first in the nation. Fresh off an undefeated weekend that featured four wins over regionally ranked West region schools and in the midst of an 8-game win streak, the Marauders ascended to the top of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 2 ratings.

The Marauders, who have topped the last 15 ACHA Division 2 West region rankings, are 24-3 on the season. UMary is undefeated against West region foes, including a 15-0 mark against team's in this week's West region rankings. Notable wins outside the West region includes a victory over 2-time defending national champion and 4th ranked Florida Gulf Coast, a pair of wins over St Thomas, ranked 10th in the nation, and a win against the University of Jamestown, ranked 10th nationally in ACHA Division 1. UMary's three losses include two on the road at Florida Gulf Coast and one against Jamestown.

UMary owns a rating of 13.34, just ahead of Liberty University (13.17), Marian University (13.13), Florida Gulf Coast (13.12) and Sault College in the 4th ACHA Division 2 ranking of 2019-20. The next five include Keene State (12.83), UMass-Amherst (12.78), Lindenwood (12.50), Saint Thomas (11.85) and Northeastern (11.36).
