After the University of North Dakota men's hockey team defeated Quinnipiac 5-1 Saturday night, April 9th, to win their eighth national championship, fans in Grand Forks took to the streets to celebrate.

In the video above, posted by YouTube user Cody Knutson, you can see downtown Grand Forks flooded with fans sporting their UND gear.

According to the Grand Forks Herald, there were a few calls to the Grand Forks Police Department to report vandalism and even a car being tipped on its side. Otherwise, the celebrating fans were relatively well-behaved, considering the circumstances.

There were reports throughout the evening, however, of noisy, intoxicated individuals roaming the residential streets of Grand Forks.

On Sunday, the University of North Dakota Department of Athletics announced that there would be a national championship celebration the following day at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. Admission is absolutely free.
