Members of the media have picked the University of North Dakota football team to finish fourth in the Big Sky Conference this upcoming season, while the coaches have picked the team to finish fifth.

According to, the Fighting Hawks received two first place votes in the media poll and one first place vote in the coaches poll.

Northern Arizona University topped both polls with eight first place votes in each. The Lumberjacks went 7-4 last season, finishing in a tie for fourth with UND.

Montana held second place on both polls, though they were tied with Portland State on the coaches poll.

The Fighting Hawks open the 2016 season on the road against Stony Brook on Thursday, September 1st.
