Early Monday morning shooting resulted in a death and an arrest

Residents in Casselton, North Dakota woke up to the news that one of their own had fired a gun and killed another man in town. The reports were sketchy at first, with the only news being that a man had shot and killed someone, and then he called the police. That action resulted in an arrest.

More information was released as the day went on yesterday

According to Inforum "Cass County deputies responded to 15568 37th St. SE shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday for a gunshot report. That is near Club 94, a bar and grill just north of Interstate 94" The wounded man was rushed to the hospital in Fargo and died of his wound. Yesterday morning when the news first came out, police assured the community that they were safe.

Not enough evidence to keep the suspect behind bars

Inforum reported that Sheriff Jesse Jahner said "The man who fired the weapon was detained during the investigation but then was released without being charged" Casselton is a town about 20 miles east of Fargo, with a population of around 2,700 people. The crime rate out there is almost next to none, so when an incident happens like this it obviously rattles the residents.

There are no reports so far of a motive for the shooting

Club 94 had nothing to do with the shooting, the only possible theory is that the shooter had acted in self-defense, hence the reason why he called police directly after. No doubt more information will be released in the following days.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.

LOOK: Here are the best lake towns to live in

Many of the included towns jump out at the casual observer as popular summer-rental spots--the Ozarks' Branson, Missouri, or Arizona's Lake Havasu--it might surprise you to dive deeper into some quality-of-life offerings beyond the beach and vacation homes. You'll likely pick up some knowledge from a wide range of Americana: one of the last remaining 1950s-style drive-ins in the Midwest; a Florida town that started as a Civil War veteran retirement area; an island boasting some of the country's top public schools and wealth-earners right in the middle of a lake between Seattle and Bellevue; and even a California town containing much more than Johnny Cash's prison blues.
