Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles went on the road and defeated a scrappy Los Angeles Chargers team, 26-24.

Wentz finished 17 of 31 for 242 yards, including an 8-yard touchdown pass to Alshon Jeffery, and LaGarrette Blount rushed for 136 yards on 16 carries.

Zach Ertz led the Eagles in receiving with 5 catches for 81 yards.

The Eagles defense held off a tough Chargers offense on the road, despite 347 yards passing from Phillip Rivers on 22 of 38 passing and two touchdowns. Keenan Allen had 138 yards receiving on 5 catches and Tyrell Williams added 115 yards receiving on 5 catches as well for the Chargers.

The Eagles defense surrendered only 58 yards rushing from the Chargers.

Eagles kicker Jake Elliott was 4 for 4 on field goals; a 53-yarder and the other three were over 40 yards.

The Eagles never trailed and held a halftime lead of 16-10 before holding on in the second half.

The Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) will play the Arizona Cardinals at home next Sunday.
