Satelliteinternet.com analyzed Google Trends for 2020 and found that mashed potatoes are the most researched recipe in North Dakota. Whose mom (or grandma) makes the best mashed potatoes?

I am going to come right out and tell you right now, no one's mother or grandmother is a better cook than mine. A family friend once called his own mother mid-slice of apple pie to tell her he had found better. So, I dare anyone to challenge my mom's talents as a cook. And that even comes down to her mashed potato recipe.

I can't spoil everything, but my mom's mashed potato recipe starts out pretty basic - peel, cut up, and boil the potatoes. But after that, she works her magic. I won't give away all the details but cream cheese and baking the mashed potatoes are two unique touches to my mom's recipe. Then, of course, forget gravy (gag!), you gotta top the potatoes off with sour cream, bacon, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
