UPDATE:

Last night, I posted about the missing Standing Rock woman, Kara Mauai. She went missing on November 8, 2019. Not more than two hours later, I saw the Facebook post saying she had been found and is safe. She was found in Dallas-Forth Worth on Wednesday. At the time the news broke, she was with authorities. This story will have a happy ending, thankfully.

ORIGINAL POST:

Human trafficking is very real. No, this doesn't just happen to "other people in other places." It happens here, in North Dakota. On November 8th, 2019, Kara Lynn Mauai disappeared from the Standing Rock Reservation.

Since the beginning of this in November, there have been conflicting reports of whether Kara Mauai was last seen in McLaughlin, SD, or Porcupine, ND. Then, on Januar 6, law enforcement found clothes in Porcupine, ND that belonged to her.

The latest report, from January 21, 2020, says that it is believed that Kara Mauai may be in the Dallas area. She is considered to be an endangered person and she may be a victim of human trafficking. The search is ongoing.
