Winter Storm Watch For Several Portions of ND This Weekend
The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Winter Storm Watch for this weekend that will go from late Friday night into Sunday afternoon.
According to the NWS, a Winter Storm Watch means that a potential for significant snowfall, sleet, or ice conditions could create hazardous road conditions.
The amount of snowfall expected in the forecast shows the most snow coming in southern portions of North Dakota this weekend.
Wind gusts are expected to be around 30 mph throughout the winter storm for this weekend as well so there may be some blowing snow that could also factor in potentially hazardous road conditions.
High temperatures during the winter storm are expected to be near the mid 20s which is certainly warmer than previous weeks of subzero temps, but the forecast calls for about a 90 percent chance of snow on Saturday, which could also result in heavy snowfall.
Projections for snowfall amounts could very well change as the winter storm approaches. We'll keep you updated as the winter storm develops.
