We're so lucky to be getting not one but TWO 'X-Men' movies in the span of two years. First up is 'The Wolverine,' coming at us this July, while 2014 will see Bryan Singer return to the director's seat for 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.' While these two flicks are seemingly separate adventures for their respective heroes, could there possibly be some underlying connection between them? Could a possible secret cameo from an 'X-Men' alum flow 'The Wolverine' right into 'Days of Future Past'?

Back when 'Wolverine' was just a glimmer in the eye of many a fanboy, it was rumored that Famke Jannsen's Jean Grey/Phoenix would be making a small cameo appearance in the flick, which sees Logan traversing to Japan following the events of 'X-Men: The Last Stand.' (And, you know -- SPOILER -- Jean dies in that one.) This was confirmed by the recent slew of trailers, but now another "secret cameo" has reportedly been filmed that could potentially tease Singer's 'Days of Future Past.'

JoBlo reports that an airport scene was recently re-shot featuring Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and...Professor Xavier! Though it was not specified whether it was Patrick Stewart or James McAvoy's renditions, we're assuming it's the former as the character was referred to as the "real Professor X." The brief details that we have reveal the two walk into the airport and then go into freeze frame.

What does this mean, assuming James Mangold decides to keep this scene for the film? One of the rumors going around is that this could possibly be an end/post-credit scene that sees 'The Wolverine' teasing 'Days of Future Past' (in the vein that Nick Fury's appearance teased 'Iron Man 2' and 'The Avengers' in the original 'Iron Man'). Though Xavier's body was obliterated by the Phoenix in 'The Last Stand,' a post-credit scene shows him speaking to his long-time friend Moira MacTaggert through an unconscious body. DVD commentary reveals said body to be that of his brain dead twin brother P. Xavier, suggesting the Professor's consciousness survived long after his physical form. Only time will tell. In the meantime, sound off in the comments, fanboy nation.
