If you are a normal human being (not a genius), you have to look up words from time to time. Whether it's because you don't know how to spell it or don't know what it means altogether, it's necessary.

Luckily, we have smartphones that allow us to quickly and discreetly find any word we need. We no longer have to whip out a dictionary and look up words manually.

Most Searched Word In North Dakota

Dictionary.com did some research and put together a list of the top-searched words in each state.

Looking through the list, I see that some other states' searches are odd, questionable, and a little funny. Washington D.C.'s most searched word is "Only." How do you mess up only? Why would you need to look that one up? I'm confused.

North Carolina's most searched word is "Lethargic," which makes me very sad for the people living in the state. Why are they so tired? Take a vacation, folks!

I have to admit, I had to look up North Dakota's most-searched word; I've never seen or heard it before in my life.

North Dakotans are looking up the word "Peremptorily" more than any other word.

Here's Oxford Dictionary's definition of the word.

Peremptorily (formal, disapproving) - in a way that allows no discussion or possibility of refusing.

We are known for being pretty casual and "North Dakota Nice," so this is truly baffling to me.

Have you looked up this word? Have you used it?
