North Dakota’s “Worst Day of the Year” Is Almost Here
The holidays are almost here, and if you ask any North Dakotan, they will tell you that this is the BEST time of the year. While that's true, there's something awful lurking around the holiday corner.
Did you know that there is one specific day that is considered THE WORST day of the year in North Dakota? Well, if you didn't, you do now.
So, I'm sure you're wondering right now what I mean by "Worst day of the year." Well, we've collectively decided there is one day that we've collectively decided absolutely sucks.
It found that the worst day is quickly approaching. Beware of January 2nd, it will be a doozy, and that's not just because it's been dubbed "National Divorce Day."
** Yes, January 2nd is known as this because, after the holidays, Divorce lawyers get a surge of inquiries.**
The Worst Day In ND Explained
No, the reason it is the worst day of the year is because a study was done, and it asked more than 3,000 people across the United States, which day they felt was the worst based on rainfall totals and moisture.
It found that January 2nd is the absolute worst because the average temperature across the U.S. is 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
While that doesn't sound too bad in North Dakota, considering we often drop 20 below zero, the collective North Dakota population hates this day. Maybe we're just not fully adjusted to the cold, or perhaps we miss the warmth the holidays bring to our lives.
Interestingly enough, the source put together a map, so you can see what are the worst days in every state. Check it out:
