In 2015, Twitter feuds were the rage as there was a rapper or a R&B singer tweeting, beefing or throwing shots at someone on their timelines.

But 2015 brought more than just social media drama like the infamous statement made by Vince Staples about ‘90s hip hop being overrated and speculation of a Drake and Future collaboration mixtape.

But there was good stress too as rap fans took to social media to debate whether Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly was a classic or not. Missy Elliott’s first music video in seven years, “WTF,” also caused a frenzy on Twitter.

Whether it was one of the countless beefs sprawled out over Twitter or rants on Instagram that had us scratching our heads, 2015 was definitely a busy year for feuds, tirades and announcements on social media.

So without further ado, here are 20 Rappers Who Stressed Us Out in 2015.

Lupe Fiasco had his fair share of twitter battles this year with Kid Cudi and Azealia Banks. “How about you stop s---ing on the people who really cared about your well being when this biz was ripping you apart. Fake ass,” the rhymer tweeted at Cudder in January. And lest we forget that there was almost a rap battle between Fiasco and Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def). Unfortunately, it didn’t happen after Bey said it was all a joke. Fiasco is ending 2015 with a bang though by announcing that he’ll be dropping three albums next year.

Wale’s The Album About Nothing drew some serious hip-hop fans -- and for good reason. With tracks like “The Matrimony” and “The Body,” Wale brought himself back in the limelight. But the Maybach Music Group rapper also got into a scuffle with his labelmate, Meek Mill, after he declared Drake the winner in their infamous rap feud. MMG boss Rick Ross ultimately quelled the whole thing but it definitely had us pressed for a bit.

Rick Ross spent most of the year trying to squash the beef between his label mates, Wale and Meek Mill, but he was also caught up in his own controversy. Rosay found himself at odds with 50 Cent, as he was constantly the victim of Fiddy’s vitorol. The Miami rhymer was also arrested for aggravated battery and aggravated assault against Jonathan Zamudio, a groundskeeper on the rapper’s property.

    Future

Future had one of the most successful years in 2015 but it was also stained with heartbreak as he broke up with singer, Ciara. While the Atlanta rhymer was beasting with several mixtape releases and two No. 1 albums, there was also beef with Ciara’s new boo, NFL player Russell Wilson. Future thought he was spending too much time with their son and addressed that with CiCi. However, things seemed to have cooled down between the co-parents since then but Future definitely stressed us out this year.

It seemed that a day couldn’t go by without Azealia Banks in the news. The Broke with Expensive Taste creator was constantly instigating Twitter beefs by calling Erykah Badu “irrelevant” or referring to Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus as “basic” artists. Outside of her feuds, she also fought with a security guard, used a homophobic slur towards a flight attendant and most recently bit a boob of an New York City bouncer. And that’s just in 2015. Banks came on the scene by making eclectic and interesting music, but now she mostly leaves us shaking our head at the foolishness.

It’s been 16 years since Dr. Dre dropped an album, so when Ice Cube let the word out that Dre had been working on something new, mass hysteria ensued. The 16-track LP, Compton, which will also serve as Dre’s last album, was inspired by the highly successful N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. And with features from Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Jill Scott, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube it was well worth the hype.

    Rapsody

Rapsody has been on her grind in the rap game for several years, working under the tutelage of producer 9th Wonder. But it was her appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s “Complexion (A Zulu Love)" on his fantastic album, To Pimp a Butterfly, that caught many hip-hop fans' attention. Her cameo appearance led listeners to dig through her old music and left them hungry for more. Rapsody's cameo on TPAB was a huge look for her and help spark anticipation for new music from the North Carolina native.

When Logic dropped the trailer for his album and "motion picture sci-fi epic,” The Incredible True Story, it wasn’t hard to be hyped. The movie-like effort had us immediately ready for more. But alas, fans would have to wait another two months in heavy anticipation until the album was released. It was certainly worth the wait though and the album cover is amazing.

From the beginning we knew Travi$ Scott was going to be trouble. The creative behind “Antidote” quickly rose to be hip-hop’s rockstar and bad boy as he notoriously kicked a photographer offstage and called him a nerd at Hot 97’s Summer Jam in June. Scott would later drop Rodeo and take his wild, high energetic shows across the U.S. causing madness and mayhem along the way. Although it wasn't always good. Last week, he pled guilty for reckless conduct after telling fans to climb over security barricades at Lollapalooza which ended in a stampede.

Kanye West has already told his fans that he’s “busy” but it came after endless speculations of when his long-awaited album, Swish, would arrive. Ye’s known to switch up his sounds and fans have no idea what’s to come from his forthcoming “sonic painting.” But, one thing's for sure, we want to hear it. And as Yeezy keeps us in anticipation for the album, he had another creation in the works -- in Kim Kardashian’s belly. But moreso than figuring out it would be a boy, fans were more anxious to know what the rhymer would name his male heir. And he didn’t disappoint. We welcomed Saint West on Dec. 8. Yeezy has been a busy man. He also announced that he’s running for president in 2020.

Kid Cudi’s fans have been riding with him through thick and thin but this year Cudder took a left turn. The Ohio rhymer dropped more of an alternative rock album with Speedin Bullet to Heaven rather than the alternative hip-hop album his fans were semi-expecting. Cudi stans got a small taste of what was to come though as the rhymer dropped experimental songs like “Confused.” But as the anticipation grew for Cudi’s new sounds it’s unclear if they were left satisfied.

Fetty Wap seemed accident prone this year. After riding high on the success of his four singles, which charted simultaneously in the Billboard’s Top 10, the New Jersey rapper found himself in a serious accident. One day after he dropped his debut self-titled album, he injured his leg in a motorcycle accident. Luckily, the 25-year-old rhymer was okay, but he definitely had us shook. He even had to cancel his tour, but he recently announced that it will be rescheduled for next year.

    Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar pulled a Beyonce, sort of. Fans knew To Pimp a Butterfly was on the way. But, between the singles, “i” and “The Blacker the Berry," fans didn’t know what the album was going to sound like. The song “i” was a funky tune with lyrics about self-love while “The Blacker the Berry” was a jarring track on racial injustice and hypocrisy. Although fans knew when the album was supposed to drop, it got leaked a whole week early, much to the chagrin of Top Dawg Entertainment. But fans were ecstatic as they collectively dove into K.Dot's musical journey of TPAB, which sparked a debate of whether it is a classic album or not.

50 Cent is obviously love to troll. From his jabs at Fox’s Empire to jokes towards rivals, he’s almost always picking a fight. His victims this year included Diddy, Rick Ross, Vivica A. Fox and others. It was never clear where the was going to take it next. Each day was an opportunity for the G-Unit leader to send hilarious jabs at someone, and fans thoroughly enjoyed his teasing.

It’s been seven years since music fans saw one of Missy Elliott’s ingenious videos. And we all collectively lost our s--- as she graced the stage alongside Katy Perry during the Superbowl XLIX halftime show. There were rumors that she was coming back and the Virginia native delivered as promised. Elliott dropped the visual for “WTF" and all of our anticipation was met with validation.

Vince Staples broke the internet with his controversial remarks about '90s hip-hop being overrated in an interview with Time magazine. “The ’90s get a lot of credit, I don’t really know why,” he said. “Biggie and 2Pac, those are the staples of the ’90s, I think that’s why they get the golden era credit." Fans (and a few rappers) went on social media to take issue with the 22-year-old rapper's diss of their favorite rap decade. Although he quickly explained himself and said that he meant he barely listens to ‘90s rap and that he never said that it’s overrated, the damage was done.

Nicki Minaj was out for self this year and she wasn’t afraid to let anyone know it. From Taylor Swift to Miley Cyrus to a New York Times journalist, she made sure to make her standards clear. But the most stressful moment came as she graced the stage at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and responded to Cyrus' unflattering comments towards her. “Miley, what’s good?” she said with a scowl as viewers held their collective breath at the incredibly real moment. And of course, there were follow-up memes. All this while managing to remain unscatched by the battle between her boyfriend, Meek Mill, and labelmate, Drake.

After getting everyone to do the shmoney dance to his song, “Hot N----,” Bobby Shmurda found himself in jail on a slew of drugs and weapons charges. told on himself, literally. The 21-year-old rhymer has yet to make the $2 million dollar bail set by the judge. While signed to Epic Records, the label’s CEO, LA Reid, stated that the label doesn’t have a vested interest in getting him out. Shmurda, on the other hand, has been caught trying to sneak a knife into the prison -- earning him more time in jail. The Brooklyn rhymer's trial is set to begin in February and if he gets convicted, faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

    Meek Mill

It's safe to say that 2015 was not the best year for Meek Mill. Although he nabbed the hottest woman in the rap game, Nicki Minaj, the 28-year-old rhymer had to sit back and watch his career falter after getting into a rap feud with Drake. It all started in July when the Philly rapper tweeted that Drizzy didn’t write his own lyrics and chastised him for not “tweeting” his album. Drizzy responded with two diss tracks, one of which, "Back to Back," nabbed him a Grammy nomination. Meanwhile, Meek took a week to respond and dropped the lackluster diss track, “Wanna Know,” but, by then, it was just too late. That didn’t stop him though. Meek continued his Twitter rants and allegations -- taking shots at his MMG labelmate Wale in the process. Finally, a Philadelphia judge found him guilty of violating his probation, which could mean jail time for Meek at his next hearing in February.

There's no question that Drake was the big winner of 2015. He dropped two No. 1 rap albums, his “Hotline Bling” video became a meme-worthy trend on social media and he single-handily won his rap feud against Meek Mill. The OVO leader's meticulously defeated the Philly rapper with bars and not tweets. At one point, it was hard to gage what move Aubrey was going to make next. He kept us on our toes early in the year when madness ensued surrounding news of a collaboration project with Future was happening. Then the gossip blogs went into a tizzy after photos of him and tennis icon Serena Williams smooching in a restaurant popped up online. To cap it off, Drizzy gifted his close friends 10 bands ($10,000) and limited-edition OVO sneakers for Christmas. What a Time to Be Alive, indeed.
