Friday, November 3rd is National Sandwich Day, so why not have endless possibilities, BisMan? Let's think of some more great sandwich restaurants we could bring here.

The sandwich restaurants that we love in the BisMan area are fantastic. I, myself, frequent many of the area sandwich shops in the area on a regular basis. So, before I go further, I would like to give a shoutout to the consistently solid sandwich restaurants in the area, such as (in no particular order) Erberts & Gerbert's, Northside Market, Schlotzsky's Deli, Panera, Jimmy John's, Subway, just to name a few, and yes, there are many in the area which I haven't acknowledged. However, what if we had more?

Whether you're at all familiar with these or not, here are a few restaurants known for their sandwiches that we could use in the Bismarck-Mandan area...

  • Jersey Mike's Subs

I was lucky enough to try this establishment on a trip I took to Pittsburgh, PA. The franchise has over 1,500 locations nationwide and the closest is in Maple Grove, MN which is roughly 413 miles from Bismarck. They serve some of the best cold and hot subs you'll ever taste with the most quality meat and cheeses you could ask for.

  • McAlister's Deli

The assortment of sandwiches at McAlister's may be the greatest thing. Their clubs, paninis, and wraps are to die for, while their soups and salads provide plenty of variety to their menu. The closest location is 448 miles away in Omaha, NE.

  • Firehouse Subs

I worked at a radio station in Hot Springs, AR when I would frequent this sub shop restaurant. Their 'Hot Specialty Subs' are amazing, and their assorted sauces that can go on any sandwich provide a great variety and are just as advertised. The closest locations to us within ND are up in Minot and in West Fargo.

  • Penn Station East Coast Subs

Being originally from the St. Louis, MO area, I was lucky enough to have access to several Penn Station restaurants. However, in Bismarck-Mandan, there's none to be found.

Their bread is a huge difference maker. They are just as advertised. They grill, they fry, they bake. Their grilled subs are as authentic as they come and their Philly Cheesesteak can compete with anything. They also serve fresh-cut fries with their subs that will make your day.

  • Which Wich

Although the name might be confusing, these guys know how to make a sandwich as good as anyone. I was traveling through Emporia, KS when I stumbled upon this joint that happens to have restaurants in 37 of the 50 states. North Dakota is not one of them. However, a few months back, it was announced there would be one in south Bismarck in late 2017. It's getting late in the year, it's National Sandwich Day, and it still isn't here. At least, not yet.

Their menu is incredible and full of any possible "Wich" you're looking for. I recommend the Chicken Pesto, as it had me wanting to buy several more of them after consumption. They can basically put together any possible sandwich you're looking for, no matter how picky you are, and make it taste amazing.
