A Police Officer’s Worst Nightmare – Domestic Assault
This is easily one of the biggest mysteries and fears for police officers all over the country
Have you ever had a chance to go on a ride-along with a police officer? It's pretty fascinating. I have experienced it twice, once in San Diego with a sheriff and then about 6 years ago in Minot. Both times I have been given the same answer to the question of "What is one of the most unpredictable, underrated calls you have to respond to?" Domestic assault. The situation can turn on you in a matter of seconds.
Last Friday night in Mandan Police got that call they hate so much
"Domestic Assault". Just to give you a quick taste of what it's like, have you ever watched the old TV show 'COPS'? When you see police officers deal with a hostile couple that can turn on each other and YOU for that matter. Then it seems to happen when one of the two that are fighting gets arrested, the other one all of a sudden becomes combative with the officers. According to kxnet.com "A 56-year-old Mandan man was arrested Friday night, January 7, 2022, after Mandan Police responded to a report of domestic assault in progress involving his girlfriend and his 19-year-old granddaughter..."
More people became involved which led to a shooting'
As usual, when tensions escalate, reinforcements ( friends ) are called in. That's what happened here as the granddaughter called some of her friends to come over to help out. As mom and daughter attempted to get in their car and leave, things could have turned out deadly - kxnet.com added "The man came outside and began shooting towards the car while the four people were near or inside the car"
No injuries and an arrest was made
Fortunately, in this case, nobody got hurt, and the man who lost his temper, and his mind for a bit, was arrested by police. In every city across the country incidents like this have turned deadly, involving citizens and police. Level heads and a sharp eye always prevail.
